Let’s go through these one by one.
Courageous because it’s scary to do something that may not work. We have to risk failure, embarrassment, and imperfection. There is no reassurance with the work we do, no guarantee of the outcome. Being courageous means despite those odds we still show up. We show up giving because the work we do matters.
Generous because it’s focused on others, not ourselves. We can’t sit too long with the fear or the doubt because people are counting on us. We need to start, we need to keep going. It’s generous because it requires much of ourselves. True generosity is a sacrifice, if we don’t feel the loss of what we give then it wasn’t generosity. We were just playing out part.
Creativity is a result of choices becoming a habit. It’s a commitment to show up and create even if we don’t feel like it. We choose to be creative therefore we make something. The only prerequisite to being creative is to believe that we have something worth creating. That quiet trust in ourselves can feel a lifetime away depending on how much brainwashing, suppressing, or shaming was done to you. But we are all creative. We are all artists, no matter what anyone says, especially yourself.
There is a dearth of brave, generous creativity in the world today. We need yours more than ever.
